Week 28 - Queensburgh

Image
'Ello everyone, I hope you are doing fantastically! Monday: 'Twas my first P-Day in Queensburgh, there's not as much cultural stuff to do as there was in Eswatini, so we did our proselyting, shopped, and spent our time at the temple. We shopped very poorly though. Me and Elder Lowe were used to getting our groceries separately, but we all bought the same things, so now we have 60 eggs, 4 loaves of bread, 5 things of peanut butter, and a bunch of other things. We will be shopping together from now on… Tuesday: We did finding in the morning (white people can be rude kinda sorta, and met some pretty cool people. There’s a guy named Dion, and we were going into the lesson thinking he was trying to attack our beliefs, because he kinda did that last time, and he started off seeming like he was going to go into it, but it turned out that he had actually prayed about the Book of Mormon and discovered it’s truth as well as the truth of the church! It was an incredible miracle that G...

Hello (or hallo if you will), onto area number three friends, but first we need to finish off Nhlangano, so let’s get to it, friends. Monday: Last P-Day in Nhlangano. We had Zone council, went to Spur to eat, and then I went to get Swazi souvenirs. Very exciting last day. Tuesday: Not much happened, had lessons, said goodbyes to some of our peoples, and got to try a nice bread that was made withe Maize. It was delicious. Wednesday: What if I told you we spent another whole day stuck outside our area… We had DC and District Lunch, but after that we got a call from the ZLs that we needed to wait for the Sidwashini Elders Bakkie to get repaired so we could trade with them (our bakkie has a lot of problems and Sidwashini happens to be closer to the Ford dealership then we are. After that we went back and we met one more time with the Gwebus. Thursday: Same story as Tuesday, but I also got lunch for the branch president, first councilor, and clerk to say goodbye. Friday: Driving… yay…...

Week 26 - Nhlangano

Hello Friends. Ieesh, believe it or not, orchestrating 6 baptisms in one week is pretty tough. Worth it, but tricky to manage, especially when your companion is the district leader and there are 21 other baptisms happening in the same zone on the same day. So let's get into it Monday: No Zone P-Day this week, so nothing exciting. Except that at lunch we saw a black mamba and a man catching it in slides, it was pretty exciting (We were in the news). After that we had dinner with a friend from Ngwane Park, but had to leave early due to bad storm, and ieesh, it was bad. We had to spend the night at Fairviews boarding instead of driving home. Tuesday: Drove home in the morning, with Elder Ramanlal on an exchange! Elder Ramanlal is an incredible missionary who is super good at talking with people, I learned a lot from him. We also fetched water and carried a bucket on our heads. Wednesday: We spent the whole day in Manzini, had 0 lessons  . As the DL, Elder Maaboi had to do the baptisma...

Week 25 - Nhlangano

Monday: We went to take our Bakkie in for a second round of repairs, and it still has to go in for a third (not my fault though). After that we went to Zone Council, and we were going to go to a Game Reserve and hike to the top of a cool rock (some may call it a mountain) but it cost 85 rand per person and we were meant broke due to the pay period. We'll get paid tomorrow, but for today we went to a glass factory, which was super cool. I even got a glass duck. Tuesday: Pretty uninteresting day, but we did count up our baptismal clothing for the baptisms we're having next week, just to make sure everything was shap Wednesday: Drove on down to Manzini for DC, ran into Elder and Sister Lindberg from durban on the way back (figuratively). Very little else though, we did do some tracting but that's about it. Thursday: Haha… a lot more tracting today, 5 hours of it to be specific. Didn't have many lessons sadly, but we met with one of our members and he agreed to come help wi...

Week 24 - Nhlangano

Monday: Chopped more wood, felt more pain. After that we headed to Manzini and didn't do much interesting. We had to get the Bakkie cleaned, but that was about it. Tuesday: Not much interesting, we drove for 30 minutes to get bunked, but while we were already pretty much 80% up a mountain, we decided to do the extra 20% and take pictures. After that, I had to face what we in the business call the consequences of my actions and figure out how to do a 20 point turn so we could make it back down the mountain without dying  Wednesday: District Council, I talked about something from Preach my Gospel (A guide to sharing the gospel). After that, we had some lessons, and put our friend Lucky on date! Elder Maaboi has this goal of baptizing a bunch of people on the same day, and getting other areas to do a bunch of their baptisms on the same day, so we can absolutely blow up the Eswatini Zone. It's going to be sick. Thursday: Today I assisted in building a house (surprisingly less ti...

Week 23 - Nhlangano

Hi. I um, forgot to write last week. The beginning of the week was super busy and by the end I was like, ah I’ll just write Monday. It's ok though, nothing super interesting happened last week. But without further ado, let's talk about this previous week. Monday:  I Got MCDONALD’S!!!!!!!!! Now that I've thoroughly confused everyone in America, we went down to Richard's Bay in South Africa! Since it not South Africa, they had fast food other then KFC there, so we got us some Mickey D's. It was wonderful. We went to Richard's Bay because we have Zone Conference tomorrow and it's going to be with Richard's Bay this time around. We went down a day early because 1) It's a 5 hour drive and 2) We did our interviews with President De Kock today so we could drive home right after ZC tomorrow. So we drove down, got us some McDanks, and were at the Richard's Bay Chapel the rest of the day. Tuesday: Zone Conference day, which as always was incredible. We had...

Week 21 - Nhlangano

Monday: Since it was New Years, we did a Zone P-Day… at a game reserve!!! It was awesome, we saw hippos, rhinos, elephants, giraffes, and lions. After that we did a braii and they we went back to Fairview and chilled there. After that though, not so good. I was rushing somewhere so I wasn't looking at the ground, and I got caught in a gutter, and hurt my leg, kinda a lot. I thought it was fine, so we drove home, and then it was not fine. Tuesday: As a result of my leg being hurt, I was not able to walk, so we stayed in today. I went to get checked out at a clinic, and they thought it was just a strained muscle, so I just had to rest. But ieesh, it was not fun. Hopefully it's the only day I have to stay in. Wednesday: District Council in person, since it was our last one of the transfer. It was really fun, and we went to get lunch afterwards, then did some more baptismal interviews (Ngwane Park is on fire with baptisms). Then we went home and had a couple lessons, nothing super ...
