Week 19-Nhlangano

Monday: New week, new Bakkie. In the three weeks I’ve been here I’ve driven three different Bakkies, but this one is actually ours so I should be keeping it for a while. But when we got it, it had just gone to a game reserve with the ZL’s and because of that was super muddy (Will attach picture for reference). We also went back to the Market today and I was able to buy a nativity set, which is super cool.  Tuesday: We went to go to a lesson and saw that there was a weird dent in the back passenger side of the Bakkie. Come to find out, that while the ZL’s were at the Game reserve, a Rhino charged the Bakkie and dented the side. So while the car was getting washed, I had the pleasure of filling out an accident report on a rhino hitting our car, which doesn’t happen too often. Other than that, nothing super interesting happened. Due to it being Christmas  next Monday , we were unable to meet with many people because they left town, and tracting isn’t super effective. So be ready for a sup

Week 18-Nhlangano

Monday: No Market today, I'll have to stop by next week to look around, but it was Zone Council and P-Day, so we went to a traditional village and looked around. We also got to see a traditional dance, which was super cool. We had Honchos for lunch, which is part of this really hyperspecific type of food chain that sells Flame grilled chicken, chips and rolls, with the same 5 types of hastings and wraps and burgers made the same way between the different chains, but they're called by 3 different names (Pedro's, Honchos, Nando's, and Galito's) which are all somewhat similar. It's very bizarre… Tuesday: Nothing super interesting, but a super cool miracle happened. So there's these flats in our area that Elder Maaboi was wanting to knock, but it was in this super secure area and we couldn't find a way to get entry. So we were going about our day, tracting and whatnot, and I got the impression to try calling gray dots (people who we have stopped teaching for

Week 17-Nhlangano

Monday: First P-day in Swazi. Still somewhat recovering from yesterday but I was able to leave the boarding today so that was cool. We drove up to Manzini today to meet with the other Elders in our district (Manzini is 1.5 hours from Nhlangano). The Elders in our district are me, Elder Maaboi (My companion and DL), Elder Blackburn, Elder Pitcher, Elder Ramanlal, and Elder Millett. I was in the MTC with Elder Blackburn and Millett, so it’s pretty awesome to see them again. We were able to go to the market and see what they had. Thay have a bunch of cool african things here, but I was dumb and didn’t bring any cash with me. Luckily Elder Blackburn lended me 20 rand, so I could get these cool beaded rings, but I’ll have to make sure to bring money next week. Tuesday: First actual day in the area. We started off by tracting and found some people who knew about the church, they seem genuinely interested so I hope that goes well in the future. We also learned that the dogs in this area aren’

Week 16-Imbali/Hhlangano

Hello friends, So, turns out, doing nightly write-ups/journaling is actually a little important, especially if you're doing transfers and no longer have access to your old planner :). So, this week will mostly be highlights and next week will be the real deal. Monday: During P-Day for our MIssionary work we went to go help Brother Mzo with his garden again and found a super cool Chameleon, took some pictures with it, and it turns out Africans do not like reptiles all that much, so we had it crawl on Elder Dlamini. Wednesday- Final DC with PMB, even bore our testimonies in the Chapel for funsies. I'm gonna miss PMB, and the Elders there. They have been super essential in helping me grow and I can't wait to learn more from the new friends I'll make in Eswantini. Friday- Final day of pros in Imbali, we were supposed to do a driving test for Elder Dlamini, but Elder Lindberg had to reschedule. We met with some Imbali friends one last time, cleaned out the font for a baptism
